If you’re looking for a Sands of Salzaar walkthrough regarding Along the River, that continues from Traces, you’re in the right place. This main quest starts after you catch the third Ifrit Skirmisher in the previous quest. Continue reading below for the walkthrough.
Along the River Main Quest Walkthrough
While Ilayda was questioning the Ifrit Skirmisher in the last quest, she learned that the Ifrit Void Master could be anywhere along The Great River. The Ifrit Skirmisher didn’t mention much else, unfortunately, which means you’ll have to do some searching. This means you’ll have to look along the river stretching across Twinluna Valley, Crying Rock, and the Umbra Cliffs. If you want to know where to go immediately to finish this quest, skip to the Crying Rock headline below.
Umbra Cliffs Spot
You’re likely already in Umbra Cliffs if you’re doing the main quests back to back. Regardless of whether you are or not, you’ll want to find the Mireton inn on the southwest side of Umbra Cliffs. The lady here will give you a clue to look north of Fleur where the mushroom farm is. There won’t be any NPCs to interact with here, but you can find some shimmering yellow specs near the water. Head over here and interact with them to find out this isn’t the right spot.
Twinluna Valley Spot
I found the Crying Rock spot before finding this one, so I’m not sure where it is. If you find out, please let us and others know in the comments so we can spread the knowledge. Otherwise, if you’re looking here, just skip to the Crying Rock one to complete Along the River.
Crying Rock Spot
The Crying Rock spot for Along the River is in the northwest corner of the region. Make your way over to Amaranth Town (West Outpost) and head west/to the left from here. You’ll come across a shipwreck near an NPC named Qasim. Don’t worry about this NPC, they’re for a separate side quest. Head down from Qasim and you’ll start to see a waterfall with a statue near it.
So long as you’re on the north side of the river, following the path I mentioned, you’ll come across some shimmering yellow specs like the last region. Once you interact with them, your character will ask Ilayda to take a look. She’ll mutter an incantation and realize there’s an open doorway here welcoming you in. This moment will complete the Along the River main quest, continuing into the Negotiations one.
