Arcanists Main Quest Walkthrough
This is one of the simpler main quests in Sands of Salzaar since the majority of it relies on waiting. Ilayda will take the scimitar you got from the mirage trial to go perform a seven-day ritual. The only quest objective will tell you to wait 15 days before heading over to the Umbra Cliffs where they’re performing the ritual. If you’re not sure what to do in the meantime, you can do side quests to earn some money and experience. This is a good way to grow your army with more squads and stronger ones too.
After 15 Days Are Up
If you’re not sure when the 15 days are up, don’t worry, you’ll get a short note once they are. The note shown in the above screenshot tells you that it’s been a month and to head to the Umbra Cliffs. The Arcanists quest log will tell you to head south of Fleur, but you’re better off finding the Fleur (South Outpost) instead. The area below Fleur is blocked and the two entrances toward Ilayda are near the Fleur (South Outpost). Just head northwest/left of the Fleur (South Outpost) to find Ilayda and some wizards.
Once you begin talking to Ilayda, she’ll tell you about her plan to teleport to a forest east of the Umbra Cliffs. She lets you know that there’s no rush and to come back when you’re prepared. This mission has a couple of battles, with at least one not needing to be won. You won’t have your squads or characters/companions to help you either. So if you need to, you can save before going in. But there seems to be an opportunity to leave early if you need to as well.
