Biomutant – How to Craft Guns

Biomutant - How to Craft Guns Guide

One of the neat parts of Biomutant is being able to craft your own guns and weapons. While the early childhood missions do explain how to craft guns, we wanted to give you more information that they don’t explain. Such as where to upgrade your weapons and armor, since it’s easy to miss. Continue reading our guide below to learn all about crafting in Biomutant.

Start crafting your own strong weapons by going to the inventory section and clicking, “Craft New Ranged” or melee.

Getting to the menu where you craft new weapons isn’t anything too complicated, but you may not have the parts. Before you can start making your own weapons, you’ll need enough parts first. With that said, all you need to do is follow these quick steps to start crafting.

  1. Open up the inventory section.
  2. Head over to the Craft tab.
  3. This screen shows several little circle nodes on your body relevant to each piece of gear. For weapons, you’ll want to click your right hand for “Main Hand”.
  4. This opens a new area where you can craft new weapons or modify certain ones you currently have.
  5. Quick heads up, this screen starts on melee weapons. To reach ranged guns, you’ll need to switch tabs. For those on PC< simply press Q or E.

Once you’re in the crafting area for the weapon you want, start piecing together all the parts. You’ll need to choose a base type first which decides what type of weapon it will be. For ranged weapons, examples include: Automatic Rifles, Rifles, Guns. Whereas melee weapons include: One-Handed Slash Weapons, Two-Handed Slash Weapons, and Two-Handed Crush Weapons.

Where to Upgrade Gear

Biomutant - Workbench Hot Air Balloon

It’s easy to go through Biomutant without realizing these hot air balloons are important.

While you can craft weapons anywhere in Biomutant, there are certain places to upgrade weapons and armor. It’s easy to play a good chunk of the game without realizing these benches are on hot air balloons. You can find them in small towns and major outposts. Simply keep an eye on the sky for a low-hanging hot air balloon with a rope to climb up.

Not everyone hot air balloon seems to have a table for both weapons and armor. So you may need to fast-travel between outposts to find what you’re looking for. For those that don’t know, upgrading gear is completely separate from crafting. You can improve the quality and material of your gear making it stronger. This is a useful trick for improving weak gear that you want to keep. Even though it can get expensive quickly.

Biomutant - Scrap Screenshot Tip

Recycling old gear and junk is a good way to get materials alongside destroying scrap towers too.

If you’re having trouble getting materials for crafting, don’t forget that you can scrap almost anything. Keep in mind, however, you may want to sell some gear instead as well. So you’ll want to balance between selling and scrapping items. Otherwise, you can rely on finding scrap towers around Biomutant for materials too.
