The Steam Next Fest June 2025 just took place and it was filled with tons of awesome games and demos to check out. We’ve put together this list of some great games you should add to your wishlist. There’s a little bit of everything for everyone to try and give you some variety.
If you haven’t tried the demos in this list, many game developers keep their demos live after the Steam Next Fest ends. So there’s still a decent chance you may be able to play them! With that said, this list isn’t in any particular order. And if you’d like to see more games we recommend playing, be sure to follow our Steam Curator page for the occasional update. We may add more to this list and our curator page later.
Dead as Disco
Steam Store Page | https://store.steampowered.com/app/3404260/Dead_as_Disco/ |
Developer / Publisher | Brain Jar Games, Inc. |
Release Date | Coming Soon |
Dead as Disco is easily one of my favorite demos from the latest Steam Next Fest. It’s an energetic rhythm beat ’em up that oozes style alongside great animations. Despite being a rhythm game, it really syncs the combat with you, focusing more on the action than hitting certain beats. This is how the developer does an excellent job of making every fight feel great even if your rhythm is off.
Tackle for Loss
Steam Store Page | https://store.steampowered.com/app/2930270/Tackle_for_Loss/ |
Developer / Publisher | Indifferent Penguin |
Release Date | September 19, 2025 |
Tackle for Loss is a football-themed Hotline Miami that matches that same flow of trial-and-error learning levels. The big twist here is that you have limited attacks per level, but you can combo them together to take out more enemies. This plays into making you approach every level with a plan as if it’s a puzzle to solve.
Who’s at the door?
Steam Store Page | https://store.steampowered.com/app/3690010/Whos_at_the_door/ |
Developer / Publisher | SKONEC Entertainment |
Release Date | July 2025 |
Who’s at the door? is a strange game from the perspective of someone dealing with psychosis in a small apartment. You’ll need to remember every detail of your environment to catch when things aren’t quite right. Sometimes it’s as simple as a flower pot being a coat rack and other times it’s a giant monster in your apartment. While I haven’t played The Exit 8, I know it plays similarly.
BALL x PIT
Steam Store Page | https://store.steampowered.com/app/2062430/BALL_x_PIT/ |
Developer / Publisher | Kenny Sun / Devolver Digital |
Release Date | July 2025 |
BALL x PIT is a brilliant twist on the Vampire Survivors genre with a Breakout influence that already shows the potential for fun builds. I always get a kick out of how survivor-like games innovate or reskin different weapons. This is where BALL x PIT takes that idea and really runs with it doing their own thing. It also has a meta-progression side where you can build up a village in between runs.
Consume Me
Steam Store Page | https://store.steampowered.com/app/2359120/Consume_Me/ |
Developer / Publisher | Jenny Jiao Hsia, AP Thomson, Jie En Lee, Violet W-P, Ken “coda” Snyder / Hexecutable |
Release Date | September 25, 2025 |
Consume Me tackles the struggles of a teenager figuring themselves out while dealing with the unrealistic goals society puts on us. It does a good job of gamifying a serious topic by using silly minigames while still telling a larger story. Reaching your daily dieting goals is a big part of Consume Me, but it also shows how dangerous those goals can be. I’d love to see how the complete story plays out.
Drop Pockets
Steam Store Page | https://store.steampowered.com/app/3005620/Drop_Pockets/ |
Developer / Publisher | Children of Madness |
Release Date | Coming Soon |
Drop Pockets is a clever take on the Balatro formula as a billiards game. By getting unique balls, pockets, and cue sticks, you can stack effects to reach high scores as your table changes. What starts as a normal game of pool can quickly transform into a table representing a pinball machine. That level of chaos makes for a constantly interesting time.
BroomSweeper
Steam Store Page | https://store.steampowered.com/app/3473250/BroomSweeper/ |
Developer / Publisher | BandsWithLegends / Bandwidth Games |
Release Date | 2025 |
BroomSweeper is a creative spin on Minesweeper that turns it into a roguelite where the rules frequently change. I like how the developer took the simple concept of Minesweeper and added item builds to it. However, there are weird hazards that follow you across board clears. Such as having a number lie about how many bombs are nearby or one bomb influencing the numbers of far away tiles. There are times when it felt like the hazards warped the rules a little too much and made for a confusing time.
Deep Space Exploitation
Steam Store Page | https://store.steampowered.com/app/3656660/Deep_Space_Exploitation/ |
Developer / Publisher | JuhrJuhr |
Release Date | 2025 |
Deep Space Exploitation revolves around space mining for a corporation to pay off a massive debt. As it says in the name, don’t be surprised if you’re saddled with fines as you struggle to afford your equipment. It’s a simple concept and loop, but the demo teased me with a small event that had me wondering how much of a story it may have. I wouldn’t mind more events with moral decisions that build the world beyond shooting rocks for minerals.
No, I’m not a Human
Steam Store Page | https://store.steampowered.com/app/3180070/No_Im_not_a_Human/ |
Developer / Publisher | Trioskaz / CRITICAL REFLEX |
Release Date | Q3 2025 |
No I’m not a Human takes place in a creepy world where unusual people are rising out of the ground. Which almost sounds like the plot of Us from Jordan Peele. But in this case, you’ll need to decide who to let into your house as you interrogate each person. It doesn’t help that almost everyone looks off and you have limited energy to investigate them. You’ll have to invite the right people inside because being alone is as bad as letting in killers.
The Hatchling
Steam Store Page | https://store.steampowered.com/app/3505940/The_Hatchling/ |
Developer / Publisher | Ricardo Pratas |
Release Date | July 2025 |
The Hatchling focuses on keeping the perfect conditions for a strange egg to hatch in a mysterious dystopian world. The demo doesn’t tell you much, but it was enough to have me wonder what the heck is going on. What’s inside this egg? Who am I working for? Should I kill this thing? I felt that same vibe in another demo called The Oily Depths.
Escape From Dukov
Steam Store Page | https://store.steampowered.com/app/3167020/Escape_From_Duckov/ |
Developer / Publisher | Team Soda / bilibili |
Release Date | 2025 |
Escape From Dukov is essentially single-player Escape from Tarkov where everyone is a duck. I’m always down for more games to show how enjoyable a single-player version of Tarkov can be, and this is a great case for it. The fact that everyone is a duck doesn’t factor in much, but it is silly when you wear a sack or pumpkin on your head for armor. That aside, it follows the same concept as you explore for loot, complete quests, and build up your base over time.
Jump Ship
Steam Store Page | https://store.steampowered.com/app/1757300/Jump_Ship/ |
Developer / Publisher | Keepsake Games |
Release Date | 2025 |
Jump Ship is a co-op space game where you can man a ship with friends or explore space in first-person as you find abandoned stations. My time with this demo was limited because, like many players, my GPU seems to have a hardware defect where Jump Ship crashes my computer. I wrote about this problem back in 2023 during Diablo 4’s launch and unfortunately, it popped up again. However, Jump Ship works for most players as far as I can tell. I only wish I could have spent more time checking it out!
Insider Trading
Steam Store Page | https://store.steampowered.com/app/3166810/Insider_Trading/ |
Developer / Publisher | Naiive |
Release Date | 2025 |
Insider Trading is a stock trading game that plays like Balatro with a catchy soundtrack. Instead of winning poker hands, you’ll need to manipulate the market and trade at the right time to reach profit targets. You can do this by getting perks and cards that synergize well to earn big. Insider Trading keeps things interesting by throwing in events like recessions that force you to tank the market.
GlitchSPANKR
Steam Store Page | https://store.steampowered.com/app/2727660/GlitchSPANKR/ |
Developer / Publisher | Mahelyk, The ClassifiedX / TheClassifiedX |
Release Date | Q3 2025 |
I wasn’t sure what to expect going into GlitchSPANKR since the premise seemed quite goofy. You’re a kid sneaking onto your computer to play a lewd game when suddenly it crashes. This leads to a first-person game where you can spank away code and viruses to recover your lewd game. But it instead turns into a comical journey filled with different paths as the virus killing your computer is a silly but complicated character.
That’s the end of this list of demos for now, but you can also check out which ones we highlighted in the Steam Next Fest June 2024. Be sure to find out how many of them have been released and how they held up in the reviews!
