The Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord War Sails update tweaked some settings, like disabling friendly markers/banners from being visible. While this is great for immersing yourself, it can make it harder to keep track of the battle. Fortunately, this isn’t a bug or a permanent change. Continue reading our short guide for how to enable friendly markers/banners!

How to Enable Friendly Markers in Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord

If you want to re-enable this setting that was turned off by default, we’ve listed the steps to do so for those on PC. If you’re on console and having this issue, we haven’t been able to test it and see. However, it may follow a similar path, so I’d still recommend checking the following steps. Feel free to let us know if you get a chance to test it yourself!

  1. Pause your game and go to the Options menu.
  2. Click on the Gameplay tab inside the Options menu.
  3. Scroll down a little bit to find the Visuals section.
  4. Inside the Visuals section is a checkbox for “Always Show Friendly Troops Banner Indicator“. Checking this box will bring back friendly markers/banners.

Aside from that setting, if you’ve changed your mind and would prefer to keep them off, you can still hold Alt on PC to temporarily show them. Otherwise, that’s all there is to fixing this simple setting if you want to get them back. As you can see in the Visuals section, you can also reduce how visible friendly troop banners are too. This isn’t a bad idea to take advantage of if they’re a little too aggressive for you.
