99 Nights in the Forest is a popular survival Roblox game that I’ve put together 99 of the best tips and tricks I could think of for. Since there are 99 of them, you’ll get a good mixture of great tips and some basic ones you’ll know after playing a bit yourself. I tried bolding tips that I thought were especially helpful!
I’ve done plenty of runs with my current longest one being at 146 days, but that’s just because there wasn’t much more for me to do at the time. As of the time writing this guide, I have 26 of 30 badges as well. Just to show that I do have experience playing 99 Nights in the Forest.
- You can speed up day progress for getting badges by building beds and saving the children.
- Don’t forget that you can sprint, but it seems to drain your hunger quicker.
- Loot chests for better tools and weapons.
- You can’t pick up the same tool or weapon if you already have it or have a better one. But, if you’re playing with others, you can let them know where those items are.
- You can chop massive trees down with a Strong Axe or Chainsaw.
- Getting powerful tools like the Chainsaw relies on opening chests.
- You need to level up the fire to expand the region.
- Each game has a different world to explore, so you’re always in for a new experience.
- Traveling farther from the campfire will lead to more dangerous enemies and even traps.
- Try to plan getting back to your campfire as you reach the later days, so wolves don’t swarm you at night.
- Your health regeneration is a lot quicker near the campfire.
- The Humiliation badge is a secret, but it revolves around dying to a Bear Trap.
- Be careful not to mistake alpha enemies for normal ones since they hit harder. Alpha Wolves have red eyes.
- Plant tree saplings near each other since you can hit multiple trees at once with your axe.
- Don’t try to fight the Deer since your weapons won’t work against it.
- You can explore at night, but you have to be careful since the Deer will chase you. A good strategy is to clear the fog on your map so you can loot during the day.
- If you’re exploring at night, listen for the Deer’s footsteps or wolves spawning near you.
- Farm Plots will help you survive early on if you’re playing with a lot of people.
- The Crock Pot is useful for a good food item you can put on your hotkey bar.
- Eating uncooked food will hurt you. It’s only a little bit though, so if you’re desperate, you can.
- Running out of food won’t immediately make you lose, but it will drain your health until you die.
- Collect Flowers since they’re a currency for the Fairy which has a set location in each run.
- Keep an eye out for landmarks like cabins or towers since they often have loot or tools.
- Prioritize giving furs to the trader so you can upgrade early on.
- If the campfire goes out, you won’t lose your level.
- The map isn’t usable if the campfire goes out. You also won’t have a symbol for where the campfire is.
- An okay way to get back to your campfire when it’s out is to reach the boundary and then work your way back in toward the center.
- You can’t fuel a fire with wet logs, but they will dry out when it’s not raining. Otherwise, you can use the Wood Rain Storage building to keep them dry.
- You can still scrap wet logs at your Crafting Bench.
- You can take a couple of hits from the Deer and survive even without armor.
- Use the flashlight to stun the Deer temporarily. But you’ll need to find one first.
- Glowing fireflies and the campfire will recharge your flashlight battery.
- Uncovering dirt piles will reveal an arrow pointing toward a chest.
- Watch out for enemies spawning inside buildings like cabins or even treehouses.
- You can shred chairs for wood, which is usually better than using them as fuel.
- Upgrade the Crafting Bench to unlock more recipes.
- Build the Map board early on so you can explore more efficiently.
- Bear Traps are very useful for dealing with enemies.
- You can reuse Bear Traps by rearming them once they’ve been set off.
- Children at your camp will set off Bear Traps. This may be a bug that will be fixed.
- You’ll get a warning that “something evil is approaching your campfire…” each time a raid comes at night.
- You don’t have to return to your campfire when a raid happens. However, the Cultists will wait at your campfire, potentially lowering its flame quicker.
- The Deer waits right outside the campfire safe area during a raid. Unless this changes, you can wander outside the safe area while fighting off an attack.
- The amount of enemies visible in a raid cutscene doesn’t accurately show how many will attack.
- There isn’t any fall damage.
- You can drag your hotkey items to rearrange them.
- The spear outranges cutlists who have only an axe. You can also outrange cultists who have spears, but it’s harder.
- You can lock your camera with CTRL on PC. I like to lock it for melee combat, but unlock it for ranged.
- Bullets come out of the tip of your weapon, which means you can shoot around corners with certain weapons.
- You can use cultists as fuel.
- Build the Sun Dial to track how much time you have before day or night.
- When playing with friends, you can try to have roles like someone taking care of fuel, food, junk, wood, etc.
- You can’t talk to the fairy at night.
- The Biofuel Processor helps convert resources like fur that eventually become useless into fuel. I love placing it so the Biofuel spits right into the campfire.
- Biofuel doesn’t get wet in the rain.
- Farm Plots are a great source of items for the Biofuel Processor.
- Lightning can strike you while at your campfire if you don’t have a Lightning Rod. It won’t kill you in one hit, however.
- You can see storm clouds where a lightning strike is about to hit.
- Headshots with ranged weapons deal more damage to animals and cultists.
- Build the Ammo Crate for more ammo.
- You can outrun most enemies, including the Deer early on.
- You can find MedKits and Bandages for healing.
- You can use MedKits or Bandages to revive teammates, so you may want to use them sparingly for healing.
- Don’t forget to check inside the water tower when looting it, since there are often chests inside. In some cases, there can be multiple.
- Hiding above ground in towers or treehouses can keep you safe from the Deer, but wolves can still spawn on you.
- You can start reloading a weapon and switch to another one without it interrupting the reload.
- Spike traps have a different color patch of grass over them, but they’re still tough to notice.
- You can lead enemies into spike traps.
- Rope traps often have a raised patch of grass near a tree with a piece of coal as bait.
- Rope traps won’t hurt you, but they make you vulnerable to enemies chasing you. It’s important to note that they rearm quickly after being triggered.
- One shot from a revolver and one from a rifle to an alpha wolf’s head will kill it.
- If you come across the bear cage, you can get into it by turning your body to the side. The camera lock helps with this.
- Animals with colored collars protect where kids are.
- Don’t rely on only logs for fueling your campfire. You’ll want to replace them with items like Fuel Canisters or Biofuel.
- You can burn saplings, but I don’t recommend it.
- Chests don’t refill with loot.
- Teleporters are useful for traveling farther and transporting resources. Unfortunately, they’re not marked on the map.
- Seed Packs affect the entire map, so it doesn’t matter where you open them.
- Chili peppers won’t appear until you use a seed pack containing them.
- If you reach a locked cave and there aren’t any animals nearby for the key, be careful, they’ll probably spawn as you approach the gate.
- From what I can tell, placing a new Teleporter replaces the previous one. You may need to use the previous one to teleport to it from your base again.
- If you come across the anvil room, all the parts for building it are inside. You can climb the vines inside to reach the other parts up above.
- Cultist Strongholds will spawn small groups of enemies inside as you progress through them. Be careful not to let them overwhelm you. And if you need to leave to heal, get ammo, or food, you can.
- Cultist Strongholds reset every 20 minutes, meaning you can repeat them for Diamonds and new chests.
- You can get Coins randomly around the forest but also from defeating cultists. The Cultist Stronghold is especially a good source of coins.
- You can spend Coins on the Furniture trader, which randomly appears and roams the area.
- You can get Diamonds by getting achievements that you can then spend on classes.
- You can also get Diamonds from chests and as a reward for surviving days.
- Classes can help give you a minor starting advantage, like extra sack space on the Scavenger or not getting hungry as fast as the Camper.
- Classes have certain requirements/tasks to complete to level them up and increase their benefits. Make sure to check them out so you can make your equipped class stronger.
- Be careful fighting aliens up close since their Raygun can attack pretty fast. (May be a temporary event)
- If you’re lucky enough to get a Raygun, it’s a great early weapon since it doesn’t require ammo. (May be a temporary event)
- You can overheat the Raygun if you don’t give it a chance to recharge over time. This will force you to wait until it completely recharges before firing again. (May be a temporary event)
- The alien event has several UFOs crash, but one in particular has a teleporter that sends you up to the mothership.
- Search for items everywhere. You can find coal, scrap, etc., in places like wells, hollow logs, and tree stumps.
- The Deer has a tougher phase where they have red eyes and move much quicker than normal. This can happen if the campfire is out or if you receive a warning before nightfall about the Deer being hungry.
- The Deer seems to get faster as the days stretch on, but I can’t confirm this. I’ve noticed eventually not being able to outrun it.
- You can use structures to block enemies at your camp. Sometimes they’ll even get stuck or go inside structures like Wood Rain Storage.
- You can get bandages from hospitals.
